Ta Da - Finished Echo Quilt

Took all week, but I finished the quilting, and for the first time I actually drew a quilting plan.

It's been a long time coming. I started Echo way back in March and with only one block a month it was a long time in between blocks. I started with choosing the colours I would use.

Next I coloured the first two blocks and started sewing. As each block came out I would colour the sheet before sewing.

I did change some blocks to make the quilt more symmetrical, or 'echo-ie', and the blocks I didn't use in the quilt I made place mats in different colours.

I enjoyed making the blocks - all foundation paper pieced.

I was planning on using black for the binding but really wasn't sure so I "slept on it" and in the morning decided that the binding would be better with the blues and purples. I was right.

I am very happy with the finished quilt, but with the high temperatures we are having at present - and its only still Spring - it will be at least another 6 months before we can use it. In the meantime, it is pretty to look at.
