What To Do Next.....

I had finished Echo quilt top and was keen to get it quilted ....... but what to use as backing? This is when the delay starts. Searched through my backing stash, and nothing really suited the quilt. So I decided to use plain black fabric,,,, and I needed to join two pieces - so what to do, join as is, or to add a sash between. While thinking about it I altered my granddaughters formal dress, and repaired a cushion that was one of the first patchwork, and my very first applique. I knew nothing back then!

Many of the seams has to be repaired. Didn't know about quarter inch seams!  

That gave me time to think about the backing. I decided to use a sash to join the two pieces, and in the sash to put some of the triangle blocks from the quilt. 

I chose three blocks that all use the same width strip and alternated them with black fabric. Added to the label made the sash.

Starting to quilt it this weekend.
