Back now and I finally finished quilting Lupines and Laughter quilt, designed by Bonnie Hunter.
I decided to use orphan blocks as the backing, but don't think I will use so many next time. I've used spare blocks from quilts to join two pieces of fabric for the backing previously, and that was much easier. Some of the blocks were left overs, some were from projects I didn't finish. The purple blocks were for a quilt I was making for a good friend, who sadly, suddenly passed, before I had finished. I'm happy to include them in this quilt as it will live on our bed.Anyway, I made a big dent in my ophan blocks box.

Just a lovely finish Allison--great that you've used those orphan blocks on the backing...This will be so beautiful on your bed...definitely "sweet dreams" underneath this one;)) hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThanks Julierose, a special quilt indeed.
DeleteSuch pretty colours in your quilt, and a great way to use up orphan blocks too.
