So pleased to get back into the sewing room, although I didn't quite know what I was going to sew after completing my fourth finish for the year. I quilted the Solstice quilt mostly by echoing the shapes. So what to do next - I have heaps of tops to quilt and heaps of projects to complete but decided I would make a paper serviette holder. 😆
I Googled some paper napkins patterns and they were all just variations of fabric boxes - that I have made before. So I started to plan my own. I started with 10" squares for the inside and the outside, and decided to pad the centre.
I quilted the bottom and then decided to add a strap to the top to keep the paper napkins from blowing away when we eat outside.
It was a little tricky sewing the strap in place, and I actually unpicked one side to place it better.
Very happy with the result, although next time I will make the squares a little larger, maybe 10.5".Yesterday I sandwiched the three layers and this weekend I am going to quilt my 2024 Quiltville Mystery - Old Town.Link Up Parties for Inspiration:
