My Week That Was

I like routines, and know that sometimes routines can be interrupted, but these past few months have been a struggle to keep routines. We have had house guests, been busy with home renos and then selling a property, this meant little sewing.

So this week's blog will be all about routine and interruptions in one week - this past week.

Day 1 - Saturday

Usually on Saturday morning I finish this blog and upload it and link it. Then I spend the rest of the day in my sewing room watching YouTube and streaming services, and that's what I did.

I continued with quilting my Solstice triangle quilt.

Day 2 - Sunday

Usually after breakfast I spend the day in the sewing room, and that's what I did.

I finished the quilting stage of Solstice, trimmed it ready for binding, and cut the binding ready to sew on. I did some hand stitching while waiting for the footie to start. My team won.

Day 3 - Monday

Usually on Monday I do housework and tend to my indoor and balcony plants. I then either do my travel blog, or family tree, or family holiday research. Sometimes some hand stitching.

This Monday I did the house work - strange how that never gets interrupted - and the plants, they have sadly been neglected the past few weeks. Lucky it's winter and my orchids don't need a lot of attention. I worked on the 'final' 🤞plan for the backyard reno and managed some hand stitching - I want to finish one of the epp projects that I have been doing over the years. It will make a lovely lap quilt eventually. I also started a 3 day project, which I know will be longer than 3 days, from Quiet Play on YouTube. In the evening I did some family tree.

Day 4 - Tuesday

Tuesday is usually sewing day and that's what I did - after some backyard reno managing. It was a very cold day and I started some tiny TV block from Quiet Play. Early to bed, it was just too cold.

Day 5 - Wednesday

Wednesday is bill day, afternoons vary. Sometimes I will go to the sewing room and sometimes I do family tree. Today was a little different. We try to get out walking or doing something different every two or three weeks. This week we went to the movies. it was a pre-screening of a new movie Glenrothan and it included a light morning tea. The movie was good, made my cry happy tears, and the morning tea was surprisingly good. I did the bills and started on some property sale paperwork.

Day 6 - Thursday

Usually a sewing day. Tuesday, and Thursday to Sunday are sewing days. Not today. Unexpected paperwork took up the whole day.

Day 7 - Friday

A little finishing up of paperwork, followed by sewing. I finished sewing the binding on the front of the quilt and started the hand sewing of the binding on the back. I got two sides completed, and stopped when the footie came on. My team won. I will finish the binding this week.

Well, that was my week. Things should settle down now for a while at least. Now I'm going to work on some tiny TV's.

I will be linking this week's blog.
