I really wish I could finish one quilt or project a week, but I have so many other things I like to do .... family tree, history, travel, and my new hobby growing orchids. I try to get to the sewing room at least 3 days a week and usually start with some hand stitching, lately its been the sewing focus cutting blocks onto the main quilt. I then do a little bit of tidying - just a little, enough to do what I'm sewing. I spent most of this week quilting the 3D quilt I'm making using 17 of the Moda Blockheads blocks.
As well as the little in between sewing jobs - masks, dress-up apron, and the odd repair job, - I'm working on:
- Moda Blockheads 4 - I'm a little behind with the blocks, but I'm loving the 3D quilt pattern that another member of BH4 shared with the FB Group. I should finish the binding on the quilt this weekend and I can move onto the individual blocks. I've finished 15, and BH4 is up to block 19.
- Focus Cutting Sew Along - is a year long sew along with a different EPP shape each year. I think this year is the fourth year and we are doing the kite shape. I'm a little behind for July, and July is almost over, but I do have the fabric chosen and motifs cut out ready to sew. This is what I often start on when working in my sewing room, my work in progress focus cutting quilt top, while watching TV.
- Carrick Bend Mystery Quilt Along - This is a new project I have yet to start, hosted by Becca at Sugar Sand Quilt Co. I have the fabrics chosen, and need to cut all the pieces. This what I will be starting this coming week - so nothing to show, yet.
- Paper Lanterns Sew Along - another hand sewn EPP that I started way back in April 2020. I'm making a baby (now toddler) quilt for our newest granddaughter Briar, who was born in August in the UK. We haven't had a hug yet and the quilt will be finished before she comes to visit. This is my upstairs hand sewing.
- And not to forget Bonnie Hunter's Leaders / Enders Challenge.
