May's Focus / Fussy Cutting Round-up

A more productive week this week. With a quilt wall-hanging almost finished and some more sorting of fabric, and heaps of hand sewing.

Focus cutting theme for May was animals.

17 - motif - I love this cat knitting fabric.

18 - sections top. I made this block using one bunny ear each section. Thought it looked good turning it into a tree.

19 - sections bottom - I have yardage of this ladybird print. I used the bottom of the ladybirds to make the wonky centre. I think I bought this fabric years ago to make a dress for GD 1 - who is now almost 13 and a bit old for it. As a result I made a few different ladybird blocks.

20 - pattern matching - my least favourite type of fussy / focus cutting as so much fabric is wasted. As a result I matched only 3 of the six sections - and of course I have rooster fabric.

And one mustn't forget to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

21 - anything to celebrate the Jubilee. I purchased this fabric in Western Australia last year, for no reason I just liked it, and it was perfect for this prompt.

We recorded the Jubilee Concert (started at 4am our time) and watched it at a more reasonable time with high tea.
