Moda Blockheads Update

For Moda Blockheads 6, I'm not making one big quilt - I will be making a few different sewing projects. I posted block 1 - Regatta a few weeks ago, and above is block 2 - Crossroads designed by Lynn Hagmeier of Kansas Troubles Quilters. These two and more are going in a photo wall-hanging for our stairwell. The second set of blocks are going around a fairy panel.

This panel is called Enchanted Fairy Panel. I used the colour panel on the selvedge to chose the colours for the blocks.

I made my second block 1- Regatta by Vanessa Christenson, in a different way using some of these colours.

I don't think I will use this block as the light blue is too light, and I don't think it really goes with the panel - but we will see.
Block 2, Crossroads second block is better.

Putting the two blocks together one can see how block 1 really doesn't match.

So I made the other blocks darker to match the panel. I made another block 1 in an alternative design that I liked.

Block 3, Sunday Best designed by Ann Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs
Today I finished block 4, Cats Cradle by Kiley Ferons of Kiley’s Quilt Room. (Sorry I can't link as my firewall would not let me - Google it). A beautiful block and I will make another one in a different layout, but I had so much trouble with the rectangle blocks. Apparently there is a special ruler that would make it easier, so I'll have to try and find one.

That's it for this week. I am going to try and finish one top next week and hopefully also quilt it.

  1. Such a great panel to use as your jumping off point for the blocks.
