Red Scrap Blocks - Not a Lot of Sewing Lately

Back home again after back to back road trips, and staying put the next few months - unless a good deal comes up for a cruise 😁. Unlike the first road trip to the tropics, this road trip through the high ground to the coast had temperatures around zero overnight.

We painted some rocks for our Auntie (also great Aunt and great-great aunt) birthday, as she has a growing collection of rocks in her garden. We had so much fun doing it.

Very little sewing this second trip. I did pimp a footie shirt to wear on game day while away, and purchased some fabric to use. Although we have only been back a few days I did finish a few 'red' blocks for Rainbow Scrap Challenge for July. I made another block for the triangle quilt.

A few scrappy blocks
Some string blocks
And some log cabin

August's colour is yellow.

The next few weeks I will be:

  • sewing yellow scraps,
  • continuing (finishing?) quilt two of Moda Blockheads 4,
  • hand stitching animal honeycomb blocks
  • maybe even get to some embroidery
  • and getting ready for Moda Blockheads 5 new weekly challenge.

  2. Lots of pretty red fabric! Mostly that’s my sewing lately. Strings, crumbs and such! May you find a good deal on a cruise! !

  4. Love the title of your blog -- it's true! :-) And love the scrappy red blocks. Actually, I love all colours of scrappy blocks. I make some of my scraps into 'traditional' blocks (currently focused on a "Butter Churn" pattern) and others are random. My current focus there is 12 1/2" square crumb blocks. Takes a lot of crumbs to do that but then again...they breed in the night, don't they?! Happy quilting!

    1. They certainly do Margaret. I have so many HST's I really need to do something with them too.

  5. The half hexie, soon to be a hexie blocks is such fun. For someone who claims not to have much time to sew, you have amassed quite a collection of blocks.
