Scavenger Hunt Quilt

Last blog I had started a scavenger hunt quilt designed by Heidi Parkes. Did you work out what my step 3 items were? - headphones, brush, phone and Peter's hand and mine.
I was stuck on Step 4 - chronology. I needed to make a calendar like grid of fabrics in chronological order that mean something to me. I simply couldn't find that many swatches, so left if and moved onto step 5. While doing that I managed to find a number of fabrics in my 2" box and completed the grid. I went from 10 pieces of fabric to 22.
Step 5 was called 'orbit'. Find the largest bowl in the house and trace part or all of it to indicate if I am a day person or a night person. I'm definitely a night person. I love to stay up late and sew or watch Netflix. Easy to do in the warmer months, in Winter I snuggle in bed with my head phones and binge watch Netflix. I have a piece of fabric that I like, but can't remember why I bought it. It reminds me of fireworks.
The bowl I used was given to me by a good friend as it has a rooster on it. My favourite footie team is the Sydney Roosters - or as I call them Easts.

The next step - 6, is nature. I had to think about a plant or animal that reflects my personality or nature. My first thoughts were ivy, that travels up walls and along paths and that's me. I like to travel, and once this covid is under control we will travel again. My second thought was a spider web as many spiders many beautiful patterned webs. I decided on the ivy, but might add the spider web at a latter date.

I am really enjoying this quilt. I wasn't sure at the start with it all being hand sewn, but I love relaxing while I do it. It will make a lovely wall hanging in my sewing room.
