Snapshots block 2 - Sew on and sew on

Continuing with Fatquartershop BOM, I realised that my chosen fabric for the background was directional - OOPS!!!! Fluked it in the first block with all lines running the same way. Not the same with this block. Oh well. I also realised that the blocks are way too big for a quilt that I may want to use ... so, I will now be changing the background of future blocks and making them into cushion covers or wall hangings.

See Fatquartershop video here

The pieces all cut out.

New Project...

...because I don't have enough projects on the go!!!!

Well, how can one pass something like this up?
This new project is from the Fatquartershop Blog, and looks so much fun, with no pressure!!
Kits can be purchased, and each block also has a video tutorial for each block.
Blocks are released the 15th of each month and are free, with a suggestion of a donation to their St Jude Children's Hospital campaign.
So I think I might make a few of each block so I can make place mats, and wall-hangings as well.
Sounds like a plan!!

I was getting the washing from the machine and my eyes jumped to a Robert Kaufman kit that I had purchased form Missouri Star Quilt Company a few years ago. (My fabric stash is stored in our laundry) I'm thinking this will be perfect for the Snapshot project.

Block One - Let them eat cake!

Fatquartershop have videos of each step - watch Snapshot Block One video here!

These are the fabrics I chose for Block One - should have realised that the background print was directional, but maybe I was thinking I was appliquéing :)

 Pieces all cut out.
